Concepción became a total party, with the Richard Müller Vozeler stadium completely full, after its two representative teams in the 2024 Peru Cup in Junín won their matches and one of them has already qualified for the final four of the 2024 Departmental Stage.
The sporting festival, in the three times heroic province, began with Group “A” in the victory of Defensor Concepción by 1 – 0 over its direct rival Atlético Chanchamayo.
“The True Basket-Making Feeling” came out very aggressive from the opening whistle, in search of the winning goal.
At the Mariscal Castilla stadium in El Tambo, Deportivo Sucre also went out to win in order not to be left out of this 2024 Peru Cup. The rival to beat was Alipio Ponce (Satipo), although the visitor tried to play an intelligent game, the attack of the Huancaínos was more, leaving this match with 3 -1 in favor of the locals.
With these results, the 4 teams have three points, waiting for the last match to determine who will qualify for the final four of the departmental championship.
In Group “B”, there was also a celebration in the land of Concepción. It was the Municipal de Usibamba team that, with one match remaining, achieved its qualification after winning its second consecutive match against Defensor Cormis (Jauja). The final score was 1 – 0 in favor of the locals, who ended up thanking God in the middle of the field, while the team from the ‘First capital of Peru’ was eliminated, with no chance of qualifying.
The other match in this group was played at the Mazamari Municipal Stadium, between Municipal Pangoa (Satipo) and Atlético Wanka.
An intense match for both teams, with the Huancaínos dominating more, but once again the errors in the definition ended up taking their toll.
The final score was 2 – 2, leaving Municipal with one foot and a half in the final four and Atlético Wanka hanging by a thread, since it depends on another result to force an additional duel.
With this result Municipal Usibamba (6) is classified, Municipal Pangoa (4), in second place, in the last date both face each other.
Third is Atlético Wanka (1) and in fourth place Defensor Cormis (0), with no options. The last date will define the two, by group, that qualify for the final quadrangular of the departmental stage. The matches will be played simultaneously.
