Budget 2025 does not reduce budget for subnational governments

In this regard, they stated that capital expenditures are prioritized mainly in regional and local governments, with increases of 8.7% and 24.2%, respectively.

“A more decentralized budget is guaranteed for the year 2025, reaching a participation of regional and local governments of 58% with respect to the decentralizable budget in capital expenditure,” reads the slide presented by Adrianzén to the Plenary.

He also pointed out that no municipality will receive less than S/1 million to finance projects. It should be noted that the Executive presented the project for next year’s budget, which amounts to S/252,000 million, that is, 4.6% more than that registered in 2024.

For his part, José Arista stated that one of the Executive’s priorities is citizen security, and he assured that the amount allocated for public order will rise to S/15,532 million, which means an increase of 4.2% compared to the previous year.

According to him, this resource will be used for interventions in favor of citizen security, police investigations and forensic equipment, flagrancy units, improvement of police services, among others.
