After it became known that the Ministry of Labor order the suspension of the activities of Andrés Carne de Res until the safety conditions are verified and certified, since alleged failures had occurred on site at the time of the accident that left the young woman from Bogotá in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Laura Villamil’s brother, Santiago Villamil, spoke out on the matter.
He said he did not think that the site “had so many difficulties, so many flaws and irregularities that it needed to be closed (temporarily).”

“Perhaps Laura’s case could have been avoided with good risk management, good preparation and training of officials”Villamil said.
Regarding the current state of health of the young dancer, Santiago Villamil gave an encouraging report and said that doctors have been able to control bacteria, which represented the greatest risk of infection of the second and third degree wounds she suffered.
“She is stable, the good thing is that one of the bacteria she has has been treated, she still has two others, they are treating her with medication. On Friday she has another (procedure) and we are waiting to see how she reacts,” said the relative.
And he added: “Here we go with God’s help, may everything go well […].The fever has been controlled, as well as the bacteria, and that is a good sign.
