The spokesman for the Presidency and Director of Strategy and Communication, Homer Figueroaindicated that the Government of the Dominican Republic will not present the draft fiscal pact this Monday.
This clarification follows statements by the Director General of the Budget, José Rijo, who said during a meeting with the press that “the discussion and the approach of everything that will be the fiscal pact in the coming week will be raised by the Minister of Finance. There will be a weekly press conference where all the details will be given.”
However, in an official statement, Figueroa said that the Budget Director referred to “the coming weeks.”
“However, the Government reiterates that the exact date for the meeting will be announced in due course. presentation formal Fiscal Pact, ensuring an orderly and well-informed process,” he emphasized.
And he added: “We appreciate the understanding of the citizens and the mediaand we reaffirm our commitment to a transparent and participatory dialogue around the country’s economic reforms.”
