THE Brazilian Communications Company (EBC) released the preliminary results of the projects selected for the next stage of the EBC Award for Combating Disinformation. Of those registered, 76 works met the criteria of the notice and will move on to the evaluation phase.

The initiative aims to give visibility to innovative communication projects in the area of combating disinformation that were produced and published between June 1, 2021 and June 1, 2024. The projects will be analyzed by committees that will have representatives from EBCfrom the Secretariat of Communication/Secretariat of Digital Policies of the Presidency of the Republic, from an international organization and from public and private research institutions.
EBC Public Communication Award
The company launched in 2024 the EBC Public Communication Award. The fight against misinformation, the resumption of incentives for national audiovisual production and the traditional recognition of the country’s radio production guide the three axes of the award.
With that, the EBC resumes the TV Brazil Exhibition Awarddiscontinued in 2014. In partnership with film festivals throughout Brazil, outstanding works will be awarded in these competitions, which will later become part of the public broadcaster’s schedule.
The third axis of the award is musical, composed of the traditional National Radio Music Festival and the MEC Radio Awardwhose registrations are open. The regulations and schedules for each of the axes are available on the website prize.ebc.com.br .
