Having knowledge of the announcements made by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit related to the increase in the price of Diesel fuel for this year, since last week, the Attorney General’s Office consulted the National Government on the actions of coordination and inter-institutional articulation, at the national and territorial level, to address possible expressions of mobilization and social protest on this issue.

The consultation was made by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the context of preventive control in view of the possible effects that may be generated in the food supply, mobility, transit and movement of travelers, in addition to putting at risk not only food security but also public health and even energy security, among other sectors.

“It is essential that authorities at the national level act in a coordinated and harmonious manner with each other to effectively and promptly address the social problems that may arise in this context,” said Attorney General Tatiana Oñate, delegate for Territorial Management and Governance.

The delegate of the Public Ministry and who participates in the dialogue table between the National Government and the transporters, warned that The Attorney General’s Office will continue to monitor the situation and if the blockades persist, the Government will be called to a working table to build bridges to find solutions to this crisis.
