“I have never had a problem like this, it’s the first time it’s happened to me. In Colombia, people show affection for me, but never this kind of treatment,” she said.
He also described the authorities’ response as excessive. “How is it possible that they don’t let me in if I’m going to sing for the people?” he said.
Amaury Gutiérrez had to cancel his performances in Colombia, a measure he made clear in a statement to his fans and the general public, where he explained that the immigration department of Cartagena, Colombia, did not allow him or his team to enter the country.
“We are being held in conditions that are not the best. They won’t let us return to Miami or go to another country on a different airline, only the one we came with,” explained the singer-songwriter, who added that there were no flights available to Miami until Wednesday.
Authorities detained the artist in a room with his representative, forcing him to sleep on the floor with all his belongings, the statement said.
In an interview with Enrique Santos, the Cuban singer-songwriter explained that the altercation began when they did not want to let his manager, an American citizen, through Colombia, without giving him an explanation and despite the fact that the representative’s documents were in order. Gutiérrez explained that they were mistreated by two agents. For this reason, Amaury identified the similarity of the treatment received with that offered by the communists.
