The information published today by the Peru21 Research Unit could not be denied by the new Minister of Housing, Durich Whittembury. This was the third time he had met a Boluarte during his professional career. And this was confirmed by Whittembury himself at a press conference on Wednesday, September 4.
In April 2015, Nicanor Boluarte assumed a high-ranking position in the Ministry of Labor, thanks to the signature of Daniel Maurate (then head of that portfolio), now also minister of Dina Boluarte. By the end of that year, his brother had already climbed the ladder in Labor. In parallel, around those months of 2015, in November, Durich Whittembury would assume the position of head of Infrastructure of the Ministry of Labor.

Whittembury remained in the post until October 2016 and Nicanor Boluarte ended his relationship with Trabajo a month later, in November.
In February 2017, Whittembury was appointed by the Presidency and Sencico’s manager, Nicanor Boluarte, as head of Sencico’s Supply. He remained in the position until September 2017. In an appointment document accessed by Perú21, the seals of Enrique Vílchez and the former general manager of Sencico, Nicanor Boluarte, can be seen.

During the press conference of the Council of Ministers, Durich Whittembury said that “I do indeed know Mr. Nicanor Boluarte professionally. We have met and I can give my opinion that I think he is an excellent professional. My presence in those entities where we met (Ministry of Labor and Sencico) was temporary. In both cases, I never worked in the same divisions with Nicanor Boluarte.”
Did the fact that Durich Francisco Whittembury coincided in institutions and dates with the brother of President Dina Boluarte, the investigated Nicanor Boluarte, have any influence on his appointment as the new Minister of Housing, Construction and Sanitation?
Only President Dina Boluarte knows the latter.
Finally, the minister recalled that he is a civil servant “with more than 25 years in public administration.”
