The former candidate of the far-right party for the self-proclaimed Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), Edmundo González Urrutia, said that he had nothing to do with the website resultadosconvzla.com where alleged results of the presidential election of June 28 were published, according to his legal representative, attorney José Vicente Haro.
Haro said that the publication was a “civic and citizen action.” However, the National Electoral Council, according to the laws of the Venezuelan State, is the governing body and the only entity constituted to give electoral results.
According to the lawyer, “Mr. Edmundo González Urrutia has not requested asylum from any duly accredited embassy in Venezuela.”
However, the former candidate posted on his X account on August 4 “the numbers” published by the web portal resultadosconvzla.com about the elections.
Three unfulfilled summonses before the MP
The Public Ministry (MP) requested on Monday of this week an arrest warrant against the former presidential candidate of the extreme right, who in addition to failing to comply with three summons from the Citizen Power, is held responsible of six crimes; among them: the publication and maintenance of the website resultadosconvzla.com, as well as the alleged commission of the crimes of usurpation of functions, forgery of public documents, instigation to disobedience of laws, computer crimes, criminal association and conspiracy.
However, Haro said on Wednesday that he was willing to meet with Attorney General Tarek William Saab if “necessary” as part of the defense.
He posted alleged results on the X network
Edmundo González made it known that he had nothing to do with the website for the alleged election results of last Sunday, July 28, where it has been shown that, among multiple inconsistencies, deceased people voted, something very common in the so-called Fourth Republic.
However, despite Haro’s claim that the former candidate of the self-proclaimed Unitary Platform had nothing to do with that platform, on August 4 his client published the numbers from that private digital site about the elections on his account on social network X.
