132 doses of fentanyl seized

Agents of the Bolivarian National Police attached to the Anti-Drug Division arrested a couple and seized 132 ampoules of the opioid fentanyl.

The procedure was carried out on La Mata Avenue, Palavecino municipality (Cabudare), Lara state, according to a report from the National Police. The detainees are identified as Simon Arias (43) and Yelys Peroza (47) who were also seized 60 ampoules of ephedrine, 10 ampoules of phenytoin, 10 bottles of hydrocortisone, two of carbamazepine and two of clotrimazole.

Fentanyl is believed to be illegally marketed for non-medical use, a source said.
