The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru expressed its total rejection of the arrest warrant issued by the Judge of the First Special Court of the Supreme Court of Justice of Venezuela against Edmundo González Urrutia.
According to the Peruvian Foreign Ministry, this intimidation “demonstrates the lack of recognition of the popular will and the intensification of government repression.”

A Venezuelan court has issued an arrest warrant for opposition leader Edmundo González Urrutia, who has claimed victory in the July 28 presidential election that was declared the winner by current President Nicolás Maduro amid allegations of fraud, prosecutors said Monday.
“The court of first instance in charge of national control issues an arrest warrant against Edmundo González Urrutia for serious crimes“, wrote the Public Prosecutor’s Office on its Instagram account, minutes after announcing that it was requesting the arrest.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office has requested a court with jurisdiction over terrorism to issue an arrest warrant against González Urrutia for alleged crimes related to the elections, including “disobedience of laws”, “conspiracy”, “usurpation of functions” and “sabotage”.
