SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- Although he was born in the city of Santa Clara, Yumie Rodriguez She forged most of her career in Havana, where she was one of the hosts of the program Meeting with Clio and Midday on TVwhere the Cubavisión channel’s schedule was offered.

Having moved with his parents to Havana, at the age of 14 he enrolled in a theatre workshop at the Gran Teatro de La Habana, and after finishing high school he entered the ENIT (National School of Theatre Instructors).

Although he returned to Cuba, he did so already having a work contract so that he could return and settle in Montevideo, Uruguay, where he currently resides and where his brother was also located.

“I founded an oral storytelling school with her in the Bacaba department of Salto because she is a writer, an oral storyteller and we had met, precisely through the presentation of my book at the Bogotá book fair (…) So I was here for a month in May 2022, I went to Cuba but I already had a work contract to return,” he said.

So far, Yumié has eight books to her credit and from the South American country she teaches workshops on initiation to the performing arts, use and placement of voice, initiation to reading habits, creative writing, at the Urunday Club in Montevideo, according to her information on her profile on the professional network LinkedIn.

For almost two years, she has been a reading promoter at the Cultural Center of Spain, in the Uruguayan capital.
