The Central Office (OCN) of Interpol Santo Domingo reported this Tuesday that, together with the coordination with the Attorney General’s Office, the extradition of a Dominican from Madrid, Spainwho was wanted by the Dominican authorities for the crime of homicide.
The detainee was identified as Edwin Ventura de los Santos, who was wanted by the notification red of search and international capture number A-1873/2-2024, issued on February 16, 2024.
According to the agency, the arrest was made in compliance with the court order of arrest number 01796-2021, issued on January 22, 2024, by the Judicial Office of Permanent Care Services of the Duarte Judicial District.
The preliminary report states that agents of the OCN-INTERPOL Santo Domingoattached to the Central Investigation Directorate of the National Police, carried out the transfer of the suspect from Madrid to the Dominican Republic, where he will be sent to court to be tried for the crime he is accused of.
This action is part of the efforts of cooperation international police and judicial system in the fight against crimedemonstrating the Dominican Republic’s commitment in this area.
