Nest Egg: understand how student attendance influences payment

In effect since March of this year, the Pé-de-Meia program is a financial-educational incentive paid by the federal government to promote the permanence and completion of school for people enrolled in public high schools. In total, each student can receive up to R$9,200, as long as they meet the criteria such as attending at least 80% of classes. The information is from the Ministry of Education.Nest Egg: understand how student attendance influences payment

The amount paid in a month is always related to attendance in previous months and takes into account a continuous calculation. The program measures both student attendance in each month of classes and the sum of all attendances during the school year.

If the student has an attendance rate of less than 80% in any month, the installment for that period will not be paid, but if in the following months he continues to attend classes until he accumulates an average attendance of 80%, he will be able to receive the incentive for that month, which had been blocked.

Students can check their attendance records directly at their schools. Excuses for absences are valid, but it is essential to contact the school secretary or the person responsible for student attendance to justify absences as soon as possible, so that the educational institution has time to update the attendance record and send the information to the school system. Most importantly, students must always remember to register their attendance at class when the roll call is given.

Account for receipt

Deposits are made by Caixa Econômica Federal, into an account automatically opened in the name of students who meet the program criteria.

If the student is a minor, in order to use the account, withdraw money or use the Caixa Tem app, the legal guardian must give consent and authorize its use by the teenager. This consent can be given through the Caixa Tem app or at a Caixa bank branch. If the student is 18 or older, the account will already be unlocked for use of the amount received.

See the answers to other questions about the program in the Frequently Asked Questions About the Nest Eggon the Ministry of Education website.
