The incidence of road accidents in the state of Táchira reached a total of 28 events during the last week, resulting in 29 injured people.
Through the integrated Civil Protection system, they were assisted with the deployment of ambulances and motorized units.
These figures reflect a 15% increase in statistics, a situation that has drawn the attention of authorities in the region.
Most of the injured were taken to the Central Hospital of San Cristóbal, specifically to the emergency area, which was 100% occupied this weekend.
Canal reported that after holding discussions with the director of the health center, these data were revealed.
So far this year, 46 people have lost their lives in traffic incidents, so measures to enforce traffic regulations will be reinforced, such as the assignment of fines and sanctions, which, until now, has only been undertaken by the San Cristóbal Municipal Police and which must be replicated in a comprehensive manner by the different security forces.
As a preventive measure, orientation campaigns will be carried out on the main streets and avenues, through the education department to raise awareness among citizens.
