With a inconsolable painthe mother of the National Police agent, Jose Rene Guzman Guzmanwas mourning the tragic loss of her son, who was one of the six fatalities after being run over by a truck while they were sharing outside an alcohol establishment on the Bastida descent, Las Yayas municipality, in the province of Azua.
The mother sadly recounted that Guzmán Guzmán had not visited the community for a yearwhich makes it all the more painful that his return was to lose his life.
“Oh my God, my son hadn’t been here for a year, to come and waste his life here. My son was very beautiful,” the woman cried out between sobs, asking herself: “What do I say to my daughter when she asks me about her Yanga to get me moving?”
The lady described the officer of the Policewho would have turned 32 on September 24, as a son good and loving.
He also asked the authorities to take action in order to prevent further tragedies like this from occurring.
“Oh, they should work on that, they should do something with the grocery store owners, they should not allow people to start drinking in the street.”the police officer’s mother pleaded.
Other victims
In addition to Jose Rene Guzman GuzmanIn the tragic traffic accident that occurred around 1:30 a.m. this Sunday, Yoserys Soriano Méndez, 20 years old; Elvin Guzmán Rodríguez, 18 years old; Génesis Arias, 27 years old; Jhon Gerardo, 21 years old, and Deybis Ferreras Matos, 24 years old, died.
Among the injured are Deybi Florentino, 44; Melina Vidal, 17; and Ernesto Escalante Flores, 48. Meanwhile, Yanerky Escalante Ramírez, 22; Robinson Montilla Ramírez, 29; Carlos Daniel Soto, 29; Sahony Paredes, 21; Marlenis Lebrón Rodríguez, 30; and Ángel Leandro Méndez Lebrón, 16, were treated and discharged from the Azua hospital.
The driver is arrested
Yesterday afternoon, he turned himself in to the authorities Angel Incarnation Baptistdriver of the red Daihatsu truck, license plate L192615, who had left the scene and was on the run. He is currently in the custody of Digesett in Azua and will be brought before the courts for the corresponding purposes. Previously, the Police had arrested Ysmailin Santana, who was accompanying the driver of the vehicle.
They close the establishment
Following the accident, authorities from the Alcoholic Beverage Sales Control Directorate (COBA) of the Ministry of the Interior and Police (MIP) proceeded to temporarily close the Gaby Súper bar, where the tragedy occurred.
It is worth noting that, according to versions, parties or “teteos” were common in the place.
