Three members of a family are accused of being part of a cell of the Tren del Llano that operates on land in the state of Anzoátegui, on the border with Guárico, according to military sources. Two of those relatives were arrested and one killed, according to reports to which we had access.
In that case, the deceased was registered as Ezequiel José Urrebarreno Tomase (Chequelo), who along with others confronted officials of the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) No. 52 in the El Paraíso sector, Ezequiel Manuel Bruzual municipality (Clarines), Anzoátegui state.
Following the confrontation, which occurred on Saturday, military agents collected a .38 caliber revolver and a 12-gauge shotgun on the scene, according to the initial report from Conas. Meanwhile, two of Ezequiel’s relatives were arrested last Friday at the Citizen Service Point located in Clarines (Anzoátegui) and were registered as Jefferson José and Yohelis del Valle Urrebarrueno Tomase. Dailys del Carmen Henríquez Chacón was also arrested along with them.
These people were traveling in a public transport vehicle, according to the report of Detachment 522 of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).
The Urrebarreno Tomase are part of the Uveral cell, linked to the central command of the Tren del Llano which operates in the vicinity of the Guanapito Reservoir, located on the outskirts of Altagracia de Orituco (Guárico), according to reports.
From there they plan extortions against medium and small producers in that region, which includes, among others, towns in Guárico, such as San José de Guaribe, where the hamlets El Cinco and Uveral are located.
Recently in El Cinco, the military arrested Alberto José Jaramillo and seized a 12-gauge shotgun and thirty-five cartridges for 7.62×51 mm caliber rifles. They link him to the Uveral cell, which is led by Ramón Itriago Manzano (El Sardina).

The Tren del Llano was the scene of violence after the June 28 presidential elections, the results of which were denied by María Corina Machado.
On the night of Monday, July 29, the leader of the group, Oscar de Jesús Noguera Hernández (El Diente) and other of his associates surrounded an educational institution in San Francisco de Macaira, parish of the José Tadeo Monagas municipality (Altagracia de Orituco), Guárico, where there were approximately 15 military agents of the Plan República and they demanded that they hand over weapons and cartridges.
The action was partially recorded by the criminal group, which began with the destruction of a poster of President Nicolás Maduro that they previously took down from a pole. Bursts of long-range weapons can also be heard in the video. The actions reflected in the video are narrated by El Diente. The members of the criminal gang also burned several offices of the Altagracia de Orituco mayor’s office.
The week after these actions, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces launched Operation Zaraza 2024 to counter the Tren del Llano cells.
The police-military deployment began in Zaraza, a town in Guariqueña bordering Anzoátegui, where they killed eight members of the gang founded by Yohanny Machuca (El Pepón) and seized three rifles. This group also took part in the violent actions before and after the presidential elections.
Operation Zaraza 2024 remains active to find Noguera and other leaders of the Tren del Llano criminal gang who are on the run.
