The National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (Indrhi) received the executive committee of the National Irrigation Council (CNR), with whom it evaluated the progress of various hydraulic projects in progress.
The meeting was chaired by the executive director of Indrhi, Olmedo Caba Romano, and the president of the CNR, Blas Domínguez, accompanied by the other members of the Council.
Among the projects in progress, they mentioned the construction of 21 reservoirs included in the Plan for the Economic Development of San Juan for the capture and subsequent distribution of water. Meanwhile, in Elías Piña, progress is being made in financial preparations for the construction of the Joca dam.
In Barahona and Bahoruco, they referred to the complementary works of the Monte Grande dam, which include irrigation canals, a supply line for the Southwest Aqueduct (Asuro), among others.
In this regard, they discussed details of the studies on the Nizaíto dam in Barahona, which will include a line for water supply in the area.
Of the projects in the Northern region, the construction of nine wells to feed the irrigation system in Dajabón, and the progress of the feasibility studies of the Alto Mao canal project stood out. In addition, the rehabilitation of the Ms. Bogaert and Horacio Vásquez canals of the Yaque del Norte River was addressed.
