This Sunday at 5 p.m. the General Congress session will be held at the Legislative Palace of San Lázaro, in which both chambers will meet to declare the opening of the first ordinary session period in the initial year of the 66th Legislature, in the context of a day in which various protest demonstrations are expected in the surroundings of the building.
Following the installation of the General Congress, the sixth and final Government Report of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador will be delivered, which will be brought to the premises by the Ministry of the Interior and received by the president of the board of directors of the chamber, Ifigenia Martínez.
Representatives of all political parties will take the floor to express their position on the document.
At the end of the event, a regular session of Congress will be held in which the opinion on the reform of the Judicial Branch will be made public, which constitutes the first step in a process of debate and eventual approval, which would extend up to four days.
As recently announced by the coordinator of the Morena bench in San Lázaro, Ricardo Monreal, the debates on the reform and its vote in general and in particular could take place from Monday, September 2 to Thursday, September 5.
