Russia could launch attack on Ukraine at any time: US

The White House said on Saturday that Russia could launch an attack on Ukraine at any time and that the president of United States, Joe Bidenwill convene a meeting of the National Security Council on Sunday to discuss the situation.

Russia’s strategic nuclear forces conducted exercises supervised by the president Vladimir Putin on Saturday, with Washington accusing Russian troops massed near the Ukraine border of advancing and being “prepared to attack.”

“Russia must be punished if it invades”

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the German chancellor Olaf Scholz They met on Saturday and agreed on the need for more diplomacy to prevent Russian leader Vladimir Putin from ordering an invasion of Ukraine, and for tough responses if Russia does attack.

“The Prime Minister and Chancellor Scholz resolved to redouble efforts to reach a diplomatic resolution to avoid unnecessary bloodshed,” Johnson’s office said in a statement.

“Should President Putin make the catastrophic miscalculation to further violate Ukraine’s sovereignty, allies must implement a comprehensive response that strikes at the heart of Russia’s strategic interests,” the statement added.
