Three members of the El Toco criminal gang were killed after facing a commission of the Bolivarian National Guard in the Alto La Cruz sector, San Rafael de Carvajal municipality, Trujillo, according to military sources.
One of those killed was identified as Leni Blanco Quintero, according to a report from GNB Detachment 231.
At the scene, the military seized three firearms: a 9 mm Smith & Wesson pistol and two .38 revolvers, as well as two cell phones, two motorcycles and their spare parts (chains, carburetors, shock absorbers and electrical parts).
The operation was activated after a robbery at a commercial premises located in La Quebrada (Trujillo), other sources said.
In another incident in the El Curarire sector, La Cañada de Urdaneta municipality (Zulia), the military arrested two members of the El Leoberth criminal gang, dedicated to extortion against merchants and businessmen.
The suspects were seized a .380 Pietro Beretta pistol with a magazine containing eight rounds, a cell phone and a motorcycle. Among the items seized were also several pamphlets that are usually left in the commercial premises or residences of potential victims of extortion.
In this case, the detainees are: Adolfo Ignacio Díaz Torres and Adonis José Méndez Villalobos, who will be prosecuted by the Prosecutor’s Office, due to their alleged involvement in illegal possession of firearms and extortion.
\Another military procedure was carried out at the Citizen Service Point located in Clarines (Anzoátegui), where three telephone devices were confiscated, which were subjected to expert analysis that revealed text messages, voice messages and images that allegedly link the detainees to the criminal gang Tren del Llano, according to a report from GNB Detachment 522.\Those arrested are: Jefferson José Urrebarrueno Tomase, Yohelis del Valle Urrebarrueno Tomase and Dailys del Carmen Henríquez Chacón, who were traveling in a public transport vehicle.
These people will be prosecuted for criminal association, among other crimes.
The Tren del Llano was the scene of violence in Guárico between Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 July, after María Corina Machado denied the results of the presidential elections.
