Santiago.- Abel Martínez’s legal team reported that a few weeks ago they began the process to determine the truthfulness of the paternity of a minor residing in the United States.
Attorney Rafael Ceballos reported that “during the campaign, news of the possible existence of a son of Abel Martínez emerged. Given this situation, Martínez assumed the corresponding financial responsibility, including monthly payments and support for the mother, and informed her that once the campaign was over, he would begin the necessary legal processes to clarify the situation and comply not only with what the law establishes, but also to establish coexistence between the two for the well-being of the minor.”
“After the campaign concluded, Abel Martínez went to the governing body of Children and Adolescents to request that the paternity verification process be initiated with the intention of determining if he was the father of the child and, if so, assume all corresponding legal responsibilities. Therefore, as a legal team, we began the legal process and the minor’s mother was summoned, filing the complaint with the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the determination of paternity, confident that we would carry out a quick process of mutual consent. In response, the mother reacted with false statements, expressed in a public video,” Ceballos indicated through a press release.
Rafael Ceballos stated that “Abel Martínez’s position has been clear from the beginning: he went to the competent body before the mother’s reaction, because my client’s wish is to make the situation transparent and in the event that paternity is confirmed, to be able to act in accordance with the law, guaranteeing the rights that the minor would have as his son, as well as establishing the coexistence regime provided by the Children and Adolescents authorities,” and reiterated that the minor’s mother has already been legally notified of the lawsuit and the respective summons before the competent body.
