“Biagio Pilieri is known by everyone as a man of integrity, serious and faithful to his word. An exemplary father and a faithful believer in the Christian church. He is not with us today, but we demand that he be released because wanting the popular will of Venezuelans to be respected is not a crime,” the party demanded.

Convergencia said that they are with him today and hope for his prompt release. They also hope for the release of all political prisoners and members of that party: Wladimir Araujo and Rafael Teran, leaders of Convergencia de Portuguesa and Trujillo, who have also been detained for several weeks.
The leader Delsa Solórzano also spoke out in favor of Pilieri’s release. On the social network X she wrote: “Today, after 3 days of the illegal detention of Biagio Pilieri, communication with his family or lawyers has not yet been allowed. This only violates all rules of due process and the right to defense, but adds to the long list of crimes against humanity committed in Venezuela.”
