Spring in Lima will be colder than usual, with temperatures around 18 degrees during the day and 14 degrees at night until November, according to Grinia Ávalos, a Senamhi specialist.
“It will be a colder spring than usual. The important condition that is modulating this behavior for the next three months continues to be the cold sea,” he told RPP.
He then continued with: “According to the latest statement, this cold condition will continue until November. So this means that, if the normal maximum temperatures in spring fluctuate between 19 and 22 degrees, the normal will be one or two degrees below this average value.”
The main cause is the persistent cooling of the sea, which influences the city’s climate. Ávalos explained that this phenomenon could result in temperatures one or two degrees below the average expected for the season, in addition to the possibility of cold nights. In contrast, an irregular rainfall pattern is expected on the other side of the mountain range.
