Walls and murals with farewell messages to López Obrador flood Mexico City

The walls that were once used to promote the consultation to revoke President López Obrador’s mandate in 2022 and phrases such as “#EsClaudia” “Marcelo Va” and “Let López continue. We are happy” from the Morena candidates for the Presidency of the Republic, were today whitewashed to promote a new propaganda campaign.

Groups of supporters of President López Obrador and the Morena party deployed in several municipalities to paint murals that allude to the social programs implemented by the current federal administration, combined with “chilango” symbols such as the Metro, the Angel of Independence, the National Palace and caricatures or silhouettes of the president.

On the wall that divides the Iztapalapa Supply Center and the Central Plaza, you can read the phrase “We want it desperately!”, along with a caricature of President López Obrador and a goose – in reference to his emblematic phrase “I’m tired of goose” – signed by Morena militants from the Benito Juárez mayor’s office.

The wall was painted by supporters of President López Obrador of Benito Juárez.

On another wall located in the Churubusco River Canal, on the border between Iztapalapa and Iztacalco, there is a silhouette of the president and the phrase “Love is paid with love”, signed by the association Let Democracy Continueof which Gabriela Jimenezthe current federal deputy elected for Azcapotzalco, is the president. This same association was one of the main promoters of the recall exercise.
