Santo Domingo.- The senator of the National District and spokesman for the People’s Force Party, Omar Fernandez condemned the blackout of some traffic lights on the main roads of the metropolis and the silence of the relevant authorities.
«The time of each citizen is worth money. It is a lack of such empathy and sensitivity that, more than eight hours after the massive failure of the system of traffic lightsno authority explains the causes or presents any solution,” he criticized through his Twitter account.

The traffic lights on key avenues such as Winston Churchill and Jiménez Moya have stopped workingexcept for the intersection of Av. Winston Churchill with Gustavo Mejía Ricart, where the traffic light remained operational.
The situation has caused intense delays for drivers, some of whom have reported delays of up to an hour on Avenida Núñez de Cáceres.
However, neither the General Directorate of Land Transport and Traffic Safety (Digesett) nor the National Institute of Traffic and Transport have commented on the case.
