MERIDA, Mexico – The pro-U.S. regime organization The People’s Forum donated around 800 tons of wheat flour to Cuba.

The donation began to be distributed by the La Vivoreña Bakery, in the capital municipality of Diez de Octubre, according to a report from the official Cubadebate.

Flour will also arrive in the provinces of Pinar del Río, Artemisa, Mayaquebe, Havana and Matanzas.

According to what he said to Cubadebate Manolo de los Santos, an activist close to the Cuban regime and founder of this NGO, a Turkish company was responsible for delivering the donation to Havana after speaking with 14 different companies in the US that refused to sell.

De los Santos said, without providing further details, that the purchase of the flour, in which the “Let Cuba Live” Brigade also participated, was made possible in large part by donations from thousands of people in the United States, “some donated a dollar, others donated thousands.”

According to Javier Francisco Aguiar, deputy minister of the Ministry of the Food Industry (MINAL), this donation covers the production of bread for one day for the population in the country.

However, Anaira Cabrera Martínez, director general of industrial policy at Minal, explained that they will only be distributed in the west of the island since “they can arrive much faster according to distribution logistics.”

The People’s Forum and the regime’s propaganda in the US

In recent times, Manolo de los Santos, who recently visited Cuba and met with Díaz-Canel, and The People’s Forum, have developed an intense propaganda campaign in favor of the Cuban regime in the United States.

In September of last year, for example, clashes were reported between members of this organization and Cuban exile activists in front of the headquarters of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

With cries of “Long live free Cuba,” “Freedom,” and “Down with the dictatorship,” the representatives of the exile responded to the presence of supporters of the Cuban regime carrying banners against the U.S. embargo.

The exchange of words forced the deployment of a police cordon to guarantee security at the site.

The confrontation took place during a visit to New York by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who was speaking at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
