Santo Domingo, DR.- The National Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) forecasts isolated showers during morning hours of tomorrow saturday in La Altagracia, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Hato Mayor, El Seibo and Espaillat, due to the fact that the anticyclonic circulation will be limiting rainfall in a large part of the Dominican territory.
However, in the evening hours the cloudiness will increase, so it is expected locally moderate to heavy showers with thunderstorms and gusts of wind, due to the slight support of a trough and local effects.
The effects will be felt in San Pedro de Macorís, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, the Great Saint Dominic, Saint Christopher, Monsignor Nouel, Saint Joseph of Ocoa, La Vega, Mirabal Sisters, Espaillat, Saint JohnElias Piña, among others nearby.
Likewise, the Indomet monitors multiple areas with a probability of cyclonic development:
- A trough associated with a low pressure zone over the northwest Gulf of Mexico with 10 % probability of cyclonic development for the next two days.
- A tropical wave in the central Atlantic which has a low probability of cyclonic development during the next 48 hourswhile, 40 % for the next seven days.
- Other tropical wave close to the Cape Verde Islands has a development potential of 20 % in the next seven days.
- To be continued warm, It is important to drink water and be in ventilated spaces to mitigate the impact of high temperatures.
