Health workers confirmed that next week they will observe a mobilized strike from Monday, September 2 to Friday, September 6. The measure requires a response to five specific points in the sector’s petition.
According to health workers, they will stop because of the “failure to comply with duties by the Finance authorities and the Departmental Health Secretariat, for failure to submit documents for approval of retroactive payment to prefectural items and salary increases to GAD items.”
They also denounce “a lack of human resources in accordance with the 2024 census, the approval of the 2025 salary scale and the rejection of the budget reduction for health.”
This week, The same sector decided to comply with a 72-hour strike for the same demands.The measure was carried out from Monday to Wednesday last.
However, given the lack of response to their demands, they decided to intensify their protest the following week.
