Santo Domingo. – The executive director of the National Institute for Comprehensive Care of Early Childhood (INAIPI), Josefa Castillo Rodríguez, condemned the aggression and illegal detention of an infant who receives services in the CAFI program, by her mother, in the municipality of San Francisco de Macorís, Duarte province.
Castillo Rodríguez said that this type of action cannot be tolerated by society, and therefore described the rapid action of the Public Prosecutor’s Office as positive, as it issued an arrest warrant against the infant’s mother.
He said that INAIPI, through its Family and Community-Based Program (PBFC) and the components included in its care model, as well as its policies and programs, promotes the protection and guarantees of the fundamental rights of children in the country.
The executive director of INAIPI asked the competent authorities to carry out an exhaustive investigation to determine the whereabouts of the minor and to establish the corresponding responsibilities and the consequences.
The unfortunate incident was made known through a video posted on social media, which shows the girl’s mother abusing and threatening the little girl.
