General Luis Cresencio Sandoval, Secretary of National Defense, presided over the graduation ceremony of 779 officers at the Heroic Military College, from which the first generation of 14 women graduated in the infantry, cavalry and armored weapons, an unprecedented event that provides equal opportunities for them.
It is important to highlight that of the total number of graduated officers, 127 are women, who, like their colleagues, will join all the activities carried out in the Mexican Army and the National Guard (GN) to serve the country.
said Jorge Antonio Maldonado Guevara, director of the Heroic Military College.
Among the graduates are 250 military police officers with a degree in public security and 79 from the intensive military police course with a specialty in public security, who will join the GN agencies.
The school’s director said that the Military College is not only the custodian of a bicentennial heroic tradition of honor and loyalty to Mexico, but that it has evolved in line with the current environment, becoming a modern educational institution.
