The Minister of Transport, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, reported this Friday, August 30, that a contingency plan was launched to facilitate surface mobility for the population in Caracas and throughout the country, after a power outage occurred during the early morning hours that left the entire national territory in darkness.
In statements broadcast by Globovisión, Velásquez Araguayán indicated that the mobility plan was activated at 5:00 am with more than 250 Metrobús units that guarantee “point-to-point” transportation so that the population can move around and feel at ease knowing that there are mechanisms for mobility.

He highlighted that in the case of Caracas, the units are enabled to cover routes from the “extremes” of the city such as Propatria, Palo Verde, La Rinconada, Las Adjuntas and Zoológico with a neuralgic point which is the Rental Zone in Plaza Venezuela, a point that was chosen for the units to converge.
He hopes that “sooner rather than later” the electrical problem, which mainly affects the operation of the Caracas Metro and the Tuy Valley Railway, can be solved.
