Around 5.3 million taxpayers who submitted their Personal Income Tax Return will receive the fourth of the five 2024 refund batches this Friday (30). The batch also includes residual refunds from previous years and includes around 47 thousand taxpayers from Rio Grande do Sul.
The Federal Revenue Service will disburse R$6.87 billion to 5,347,441 taxpayers. Payment will be made throughout the day, to the account or Pix key of the CPF type informed in the Income Tax return.
Unlike previous batches, almost all of the amount will go to taxpayers who are not a priority for reimbursement. 4,904,908 refunds were included that do not meet any requirements for early receipt, such as Pix key information, use of a pre-filled declaration, classification in legal priority categories and residence in Rio Grande do Sul.
Due to the floods in the south of the country in May this year, the Gaucho taxpayers were included in the priority list.
Regarding the priority list, 261,019 taxpayers informed the Pix key of the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF) type in their Income Tax return or used the pre-filled declaration. Since last year, the Pix key information gives priority in receiving payments.
Next, there are 84,659 taxpayers between 60 and 79 years old. In third place are 47,238 taxpayers residing in Rio Grande do Sul. In fourth place are 27,372 taxpayers whose main source of income is teaching. The remaining taxpayers are made up of 15,077 elderly people over 80 years old and 7,168 with some physical or mental disability or serious illness.
Taxpayers who want to know whether they are included in the batch can make the inquiry at Federal Revenue website. Just click on “My Income Tax” and then on the “Check Refund” button. You can also check your refund using the Federal Revenue app for tablets and smartphones.
If you are not on the list, you must enter the Virtual Taxpayer Service Center (e-CAC) and obtain the statement extract. If you find anything pending, you can send a corrective statement and wait for the next batches of the fine mesh.
If, for some reason, the refund is not deposited into the account indicated in the declaration, as in the case of a deactivated account, the amounts will be available for withdrawal for up to one year at Banco do Brasil. In this case, the citizen may schedule the credit to any bank account in their name, through BB Portal or by calling the bank’s Customer Service Center on 4004-0001 (capital cities), 0800-729-0001 (other locations) and 0800-729-0088 (special telephone number exclusively for the hearing impaired).
If the taxpayer does not receive the amount of his/her refund after one year, he/she must request the amount on the e-CAC Portal. Upon entering the page, the citizen must access the “Declarations and Statements” menu, click on “My Income Tax” and then on the field “Request unredeemed refund on
