The Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, Daniel Maurate, touched on the subject after participating in official activities in the Tumbes region, Peru.
The official reported that, at the last session of the National Labor Council, it was decided to take the analysis of the minimum vital remuneration to the Productivity and Minimum Wages Committee.
This commission, which is already in the process of being set up, has a period of 30 working days to issue a report, which is expected to be published in October.
A TOPIC THAT CONCERNS THE PRESIDENT
Last month, Maurate spoke out about the increase in the Minimum Living Wage (RMV), which is currently S/1025, indicating that the “president is very concerned about the issue.”
“Regarding the minimum wage, we have already said that there is even a presidential concern. The president is very concerned about the increase in the minimum wage, but as I have repeated many times, this cannot be a political or popular response. It has to be a technical response so that we have to increase (the wage), but without affecting micro-entrepreneurs and small businesses, where there are almost 400 thousand workers receiving a minimum wage,” Maurate said at that time.
