Panama and Puerto Rico strengthen institutional relations

As a sign of appreciation between both nations, the first vice president of the National Assembly, Congressman Didiano Pinilla, received the president of the House of Representatives of Puerto Rico, Rafael Hernández, who is in Panama City, fulfilling a bilateral agenda aimed at promoting commercial, legislative and friendship relations.

The Vice President of the Panamanian Parliament explained to his counterpart the legislative-political environment that was managed for the election and formation of the new National Assembly, and the objectives and projects that are being developed.

For his part, the President of the Puerto Rican House of Representatives said he found great similarities in the management of both Legislative Corporations, since they have a leadership that allows them to sit down and look for common ground between different political currents, whose primary objective is to put aside their partisan differences in search of the common good.

He added that on this visit he was accompanied by a group of merchants and farmers who are promoting trade opening with Panama, which is a transit route through the Panama Canal, very important for the transport of their products to various parts of the world.
