These are the most important news of August 28, 2024

Valdrack Jaentschke, the Sandinista spy agent who received money from the United States and now wants SICA

Dictator Daniel Ortega ordered his political operators who serve as deputies in the National Assembly, and his mosquito-borne collaborators, to eliminate the Emergency Social Investment Fund (FISE) and transfer all its functions to the Nicaraguan Water and Sewer Company (Enacal).

On orders from Ortega, the Sandinistas in the legislature approved on August 28 the “Law on the Transfer of Functions of the Emergency Social Investment Fund (FISE) to the Nicaraguan Water and Sewer Company (ENACAL).”

The deputies argued that Enacal will carry out the same actions that FISE has carried out in recent years, “which is to ensure that drinking water reaches Nicaraguan families in greater numbers and with better quality,” explained Ortega legislator Jenny Martínez.

Enacal thus becomes the “seamless successor” of FISE. The current expenditure of FISE will henceforth be permanently assigned to Enacal.

The Government of Nicaragua confirmed through a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that a consensus was not reached among the Central American countries to elect the candidate proposed by the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, Valdrack Jaentschkeas secretary general of the Central American Integration System (SICA), whom opponents accuse of trying to infiltrate the regional body to open the doors to the interests of China and Russia in that instance.

The foreign ministers of the countries that make up SICA met to vote for the candidate for the position of SICA secretary general, which has been vacant since November 2023, following the surprise resignation of Warner Vargas, a candidate who had already been proposed by Nicaragua and who is unofficially said to have been withdrawn by Murillo.

Murillo also confirmed in her daily address that Jaentschke was rejected by the majority of SICA members and claims that it was due to the countries’ consultations on the candidate. She also states that she will request new sessions until a “necessary decision” is made, otherwise, she threatens that Central America could do without SICA.

The request for a arrest warrant The international appeal against Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo by a group of lawyers before the Argentine courts represents a ray of hope in the face of the impunity of the dictatorial couple, according to local opponents.

The lawyers who maintain the criminal accusation, as part of the actions of the international jurisdiction of Argentine legislation, are headed by lawyer Darío Richarte.

Daniel Ortega and his wife, Rosario Murillo They have been accused of crimes against humanity against the people of Nicaragua, crimes committed after the anti-government protests of 2018, when the Ortega-Murillos unleashed a fierce depression that ended up killing 355 people, according to evidence collected by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR).

Arturo McFields, former Nicaraguan ambassador to the OASbelieves that the request for an arrest warrant against the dictatorial couple marks the beginning of the end of a dictatorship of horror and death. “It is a day that takes on great relevance in the issue of the struggle for freedom, for human rights and justice in Nicaragua,” he says.

“The lawyers who are handling the case have started a long road, but in one way or another, since the brutality of the regime, this process has been accelerated, so the Government of Argentina will have a very important role to play, by bringing the dictatorship to international justice, especially in this request that they are presenting, which highlights reports from the UN, IACHR, with abundant evidence,” he explains.

If the request is approved, a red alert may be generated by the International Police (Interpol), which would notify, in this case, the National Police of Nicaraguaon the accused; however, it does not mean that the country where the “wanted” are will apply an arrest and less so in this case, since the armed forces are controlled by the Sandinista government, led by Ortega and Murillo, but it would at least achieve that they have a country as a prison in view of the alert.
