Santo Domingo. Ángel Julián Serulle Joa was appointed by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader Corona, through Decree No. 466-24, as the new Superintendent of the Stock Market; who was sworn in this Tuesday by the Superintendent of the Stock Market, Ernesto Bournigal Read.
Upon taking the oath, Serulle Joa thanked President Luis Abinader for the trust placed in him to occupy the position.
He also undertook to comply with and perform his duties in accordance with the laws, regulations and standards of the sector, as well as those governing the public service.
Bournigal Read congratulated the new incumbent and wished him success in his new role. Mr. Serulle Joa has extensive knowledge of commercial matters, with extensive experience in the capital market sector in his private professional practice.
He has a master’s degree in Financial Markets Law in the Comillas Pontifical University (ICADEICAI), Madrid, Spain; in addition to extensive professional training in Financial Markets Law, in various international regulatory and self-regulatory bodies, such as the National Association of Securities Dealers, the Ibero-American Securities Market Institute, the Securities and Exchange Commission of the United States of America, the Bank of Spain, the World Bank, the Superintendency of Securities and Insurance of Chile, among others.
Serulle Joa served as director of Authorization and Registrationlater director of Public Offerings at the time Superintendence of Securitiesfrom 2005 to 2010, a period in which he stood out for his vocation for service, commitment and professionalism.

He was also a representative member of this Superintendency before the Superintendency of Pensions.
He also collaborated on the draft Law to Promote the Mortgage and Trust Market in the country.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Securities Market School of the Superintendency, in the presence of the president of the National Securities Market Council, Mr. Ervin Novas Bello, other members of said collegiate body, Ms. María José Martínez, Mr. Abraham Selman, Mr. Marcos Iglesias, Mr. Miguel Nuñez and Mr. Javier Lara; as well as the directors of the regulatory body.
