The Minister of Education, Edgar Pary, slipped this Thursday that there is a lot of pressure from parents for their children to return to face-to-face classes.
“The return to classes has to be gradual. There is a lot of demand from school boards, educational councils, parents who are asking to return to classes in person, ”said the authority.
However, he clarified that in regions where there are no Covid-19 infections, you can already opt for face-to-face education. While in the most populated regions, a de-escalation of cases in the pandemic is expected.
The capitals of the central axis of the country and other populated municipalities have opted for virtual classes, however, parents observed several difficulties, including internet connection.

In this context, he urged municipal governments to guarantee the infrastructure conditions of educational units and the provision of biosafety material with a view to returning to face-to-face classes.
He affirmed that unlike what happens in some municipalities, there are several municipal authorities -especially in the rural area of the country where classes are face-to-face- that equipped their educational units with biosafety material from the first day of this year.
“They can’t think of budgeting just now,” he said.
According to the authority, it is unfortunate that fathers and mothers have to lead protest marches demanding that the mayors renovate the schools.
