However, it should not be overlooked that if it is approved in its terms, it could be a reason for discussion in the review of the T-MEC that will take place in 2026, because what is sought is to eliminate any uncertainty for current and future investments.
The president of Amsoc said that guarantees must be given that this reform does not have a partisan political tone.
“What we would like to see in this reform is to prevent judges from having a particular political or partisan affiliation and, instead of promoting equity in justice, they would promote other interests that would not necessarily benefit everyone,” he said at a press conference.
While it is recognized that in the United States some local judges are elected by popular vote, there is a very exhaustive system to ensure that those who end up on a ballot are people with an impeccable and ethical professional record.
“We believe that the reform of the judicial system as it stands today generates a lot of noise for businessmen in the United States, and that is why we have advocated in both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate to take into account certain important changes so that they attract American and foreign capital,” he said.
On the other hand, in relation to the disappearance of autonomous bodies, he mentioned that dialogue is being sought so that they are not all eliminated, as is the case of the Federal Telecommunications Institute, since the T-MEC considers the existence of these entities, because there may be a controversy regarding the review.
“We want to ensure that all the elements are in place to make this review smooth and expeditious.”
