“The management of Petroperu “It is unsustainable due to its delicate financial situation and past mismanagement. This state-owned company only generates losses and repeatedly requests bailouts from the State that are financed by all Peruvians, sacrificing money that should be allocated to works that improve the quality of life of citizens,” he said.
Recently, the board of the oil company issued a similar statement, calling on the government to make a decision and offering three options, including accepting the bankruptcy or liquidation of the public company.
The board also noted that this critical situation was reached due to political and union interference, the construction of the new Talara refinery and the resulting over-indebtedness that has severely deteriorated its solvency and liquidity ratios.
For this reason, the union pointed out that recommendations seeking to generate efficiencies in the company to achieve its self-sustainability must be taken into account.
“From Comexperu We support the requests of the current board of directors Petroperu and we urge the Government to make decisions that benefit all Peruvians, in line with what was announced in the message to the nation, and not just a few who have benefited from the mismanagement of the state-owned company,” he said.
