Both were left without a party because the PRD will lose its registration at the national level and it is said that they are one step away from joining the mega-bench of the Fourth Transformation, either directly with Morena or via PT or PVEM.
Saucedo has even been seen on social media alongside the Morena governor of his state, Alfredo Ramirez Bedollaand after the election and victory, Herrera Dagdug has refused to confirm his membership in the opposition. However, since the campaign, both have avoided establishing opposition positions to Morena.
Both declined to answer the platform’s questionnaire. Knowing how to vote and establish their commitment on issues where the opposition and Morena clash: militarization of the fight against public security; powers and autonomy of the National Institute of Transparency (INAI) and the economic competition body; restoring the PISA education test and the evaluation of teachers to decide positions and permanence, and prioritizing the generation of clean energy over fossil fuels.
That is to say, they did not make a commitment to the opposition’s agenda, although they ran for office on behalf of the Fuerza y Corazón coalition, which brought them to the seat.
Both were caught in the Senate and avoided answering whether they would join the Morena bench.

Herrera Dagdug is a senator elected for Tabasco, a member of the PRD who won for the opposition coalition, but since the PRD became extinct he is an independent.
Cattle rancher, former local deputy and former municipal president of Huimanguillo, Herrera has admitted that he is friend of Adam Augusto Lopez Hernandezwho is also his countryman and will be the leader of the Morena senators.
Just this Monday, August 26, Senator Manuel Velasco announced that they already had an agreement to achieve the majority.
In this scenario, it is possible that this Wednesday, in the plenary session of the bench, the adhesions will be confirmed, although the next coordinator, Adán Augusto López rejected that the agreements already exist guarantee a qualified majority.
However, despite the words of the future coordinator, everything points to the adhesion of both PRD members, mainly due to the relationship between Herrera Dagdug and López Hernández, which made the former serve as a bridge between Morena and Araceli Saucedo, from Michoacán.
The decision, said the legislator elected on August 23, “will be made later by my colleague Araceli Saucedo from Michoacán and I, to join forces where we can really be useful.”
In contrast, after the election there was a cooling of relations with the opposition. For almost two months and until now, the current senator for Tabasco, Juan Manuel Fócil, from the PRDand the current coordinator of the senators of that party, Miguel Ángel Mancera, had no sign of them.
“The truth is that we have not had any communication yet (…) and (Fócil) told me that he has not had any communication yet with the senator who came from Tabasco, so we are still waiting,” said Mancera.
Regarding the virtual transition to Morena, the PT or the PVEM, on August 27, Mancera admitted: “We have had absolutely no contact… I imagine that they have made some personal decision and that has been their behavior.”
