How does it all begin?
The first Tambo store opened in Comas in 2015, marking the beginning of our expansion in the Peruvian market. Throughout that year, we managed to open 31 stores, establishing a solid presence and demonstrating our commitment to the country’s economic growth and development.
Today they have 511 locations.
We are proud to have a presence in various areas, in addition to Lima, such as Piura, La Libertad, Ancash, Ica, among others. We have consolidated the presence of our brand in the national market with a network of 460 stores in Lima and 51 in different provinces.
How can this expansion be explained?
On the one hand, Tambo seeks to grow constantly to continue offering more employment opportunities and, on the other, we concentrate our efforts on improving the product offering with competitive prices.
If Lima has practically one store per district, will the proposal still be there?
We are continually looking for opportunities to open new spaces and strengthen our presence in all districts.
How many more stores will open in the country?
We plan to end the year with 540 stores nationwide. We expect to open 50 stores annually and thus consolidate our strategy of expansion and leadership.

The political and social situation is complicated. How is it that you continue to open stores in this context?
Each new store reinforces our commitment to Peru by bringing us ever closer to our consumers. We believe in the country’s potential and the resilience of its people. We are dedicated to contributing to economic and social development through our investments and continued expansion.
What do you take into account before opening a store?
Various factors, such as socioeconomic environment and zoning, are considered. We assess the accessibility of the area to ensure that our locations can operate efficiently and profitably, providing added value to the local community.
Why do you think there are people who prefer to buy in Tambo?
Our proposal is comprehensive, with competitive prices and attractive offers. The purchasing experience is agile and our wide coverage makes us the ideal choice for many Peruvians. On the other hand, our focus on customer service and the quality of our products have consolidated trust and preference.
What do people mainly buy?
We offer a wide range of products for different consumption occasions. For example, we have snacks, confectionery, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, groceries, among others. We also provide services that go beyond consumption, Lima Pass, La Tinka and Torito. Our goal is to become an ideal place where customers find everything they need.
