The Municipal Executive Committee of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) in La Vega announced that it had formed a list of three candidates for mayor of that municipality, replacing Kelvin Cruz, following his appointment as Minister of Sports and the resignation of the vice mayor, Amparo Custodio, from occupying the position.
The list reportedly includes: Danny Holguinpresident of the PRM in La Vega; Stephen Garciapresident of the Council of Aldermen of the City Council of La Vega, and the deputy Augustin Burgos.
“This is the party’s proposal, here in La Vega, to solve the problem of the municipality,” said one of the members of the Municipal Executive Committee.
This list will be presented to the president for consideration. Luis Abinader and the national executive leadership of the political organization, as well as the commission composed of the president of the Dominican Municipal League (LMD), Víctor D’Aza, who will lead the commission, along with Antoliano Peralta, legal consultant to the Executive Branch and secretary of legal affairs of the PRM, and Eddy Olivares, executive vice president of the PRM.
It is recalled that Joel Martínez González, who served as general secretary of the La Vega city council, was sworn in as interim mayor of that municipality while the Executive Branch appoints a new mayor.
