The Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) arrested 18 members of the El Oso criminal organization in Zulia and seized war material from them, according to reports.
In the first procedure, 14 people were arrested in the Los Jobitos sector, Miranda municipality (Los Puertos de Altagracia). These people were seized two 9 mm pistols (Tanfoglio and Jericho), two pistol magazines, 177 cartridges of different calibers and 14 radio transmitters.
Military officials also seized equipment used for fishing operations, including three boats, three outboard motors, a GPS, 120 packing tapes and 2,000 liters of gasoline stored in 44 containers.
They also seized a mask, two motorcycle goggles, two Venezuelan passports, five life jackets, six motorcycles and a Ford Super Duty, license plate A47AG0I, according to a report from the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command attached to the Eastern Coast of the Lake (Zulia).
The detainees will be prosecuted for illegal possession of firearms, illegal possession of war material and criminal association, the report says.
Another police-military procedure was carried out in Monte Verde, Mara municipality (San Rafael de El Moján), where they seized a cell phone in which, through internal verification, text messages, voice messages and images were found that link the detainee to the criminal group El Oso. In that case, the detainee was identified as Yordeni José Díaz Vílchez, says the report.
A similar procedure was carried out at the Citizen Service Point located in Nueva Lucha, Mara municipality, in the aforementioned western state. There, Johandry Enrique Gotera Morales was arrested, who was traveling in a public transport unit.
Gotera Morales was seized with 19 cartridges for 7.62×39 mm caliber rifles, a bag and a telephone equipment, where they found text messages, voice messages and images that link Gotera Morales to the El Oso gang, according to a report from Detachment 112 of the GNB.
And in La Sabanita, Sucre municipality (Maripa), Bolívar state, they arrested a subject allegedly linked to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and seized 540 grams of high-power explosives (Anfo), a cell phone and a radio transmitter.
The captured man is identified as Victor Andres Quinto Alexandria.
