On Tuesday, August 27, a new “terrorist attack” was recorded against the National Electric System (SEN), which caused a failure in the electrical service in Caracas and several cities in the country. This was reported by the newly appointed Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón.
In a telephone conversation with the state channel, the senior official confirmed that on Tuesday, at 7:16 p.m. “a terrorist attack was carried out on the National Electric System, located on line 765, which runs from Valle de la Pascua (Guárico) to Valencia (Carabobo) and has affected the states of Táchira, Mérida, Barinas, Zulia, Falcón, Nueva Esparta and partially sectors of La Guaira, Miranda and Caracas.”
Cabello denounced that this is one of the strategies used by the destabilizing sectors of the country, linked to the extreme right, which he called “enemies of the people,” to try to harm Venezuelans.
He explained that the attack occurred against a transmission tower, and that the location of the attack had already been identified, after which the system was stabilized and the electrical service was gradually restored.
He said that this type of attack is unfortunately frequent on the part of opposition sectors, which do not want peace or progress in the country.
