“Government fatigue” is the main obstacle to improving public services, says Congressman Rafael Castillo

Santo Domingo Este.– The spokesman for the Fuerza del Pueblo (FP) Party’s Block of Deputies in the Chamber of Deputies, Rafael Castillo, expressed his deep concern about the deterioration of public services in the country, highlighting the growing inefficiency in critical areas such as the supply of electricity and education. Castillo attributes these problems to “government fatigue” which, according to him, has affected the government’s ability to fulfill its promises.

Castillo, who is a deputy for the 2nd constituency of Santo Domingo Este, stated that the administration of President Luis Abinader has shown evident wear and tear as his term progresses. “The government’s fatigue is deepening its inefficiency. Inefficiency in the electric power service has become a constant that affects the daily lives of Dominicans, bringing back blackouts with no solution in sight and a government that intends to transfer this responsibility to the population,” said Castillo.

Regarding education, Castillo denounced that the government has failed to keep its promise to improve the quality of education. “We are faced with an educational system that has not only not improved, but has worsened. The lack of places in public schools is a reality that affects low-income families, who see how their right to a decent education for their children is denied,” the spokesman emphasized.

The legislator of the main Dominican opposition party stressed that these problems are indicative of an administration that has lost its way and, instead of moving forward, has gone backwards in areas that are fundamental to the nation’s development. “The Dominican people are paying the consequences of a government that, far from fulfilling its promises, has proven incapable of offering real solutions to the needs of the population,” said Castillo.

In his statement, Castillo urged the government to assume its responsibility and implement concrete actions to resolve these problems that seriously affect the quality of life of citizens and the future of the country. “When we talk about the fatigue of this government, we are referring to its weariness, loss of energy and the decrease in its effectiveness at the administrative level. This is aggravated by officials who are more focused on their aspirations for 2028 than on fulfilling their assigned functions,” he concluded.
