The Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) directly received 1,688 appeals against the agreement of the National Electoral Institute (INE) corresponding to the assignment of legislators by the principle of proportional representation.
To this number of resources received, we must add those that entered through the electoral institute, and all will have to be resolved on Wednesday the 28th, before the integration of the Congress of the Union, scheduled for the 29th of this month.
Meanwhile, electoral law specialists such as Diego Valadés and Jorge Alcocer met with magistrates Janine Otálora and Reyes Rodríguez to deliver a amicus curiae and ask them not to approve the overrepresentation
since they consider that the TEPJF can make an interpretation of the Constitution.
The same was done by members of the pink tidewho accompanied their demand with more than 150 thousand signatures. They demonstrated outside the main entrance of the court and then handed over notebooks with the signatures and the technical report submitted by people not involved in a litigation, but with an interest in the matter, in order to request the five magistrates of the higher court to consider this demand, otherwise, the threat of overrepresentation will arrive
to Saint Lazarus.
Shortly before noon, they set up a platform where they placed notebooks bound with the more than 150 thousand signatures that they presented to the TEPJF. At the site, businessman Francisco Torres Landa acted as the main speaker to point out that the people raised their voices in the face of an accident
so they went to the electoral court to demand justice and the application of the Constitution.
Although the magistrates of the upper chamber did not annul any vote in the presidential election and considered all the lawsuits filed by the opposition parties unfounded, the business leader assured that they trust them to Don’t make a biased reading
of Article 54 of the Constitution, since they do have the power to interpret it in the best way.
We are in a moment of historic definition and, if the required justice is not delivered in this court, we are heading for a debacle.
