“Criminals are not so brave when they are unarmed,” they say in Quibdó.

News Quibdo.

An unusual and courageous act of self-defense has been recorded in Quibdó, the capital of the department of Chocó, where a merchant managed to disarm a criminal who was trying to assault him in broad daylight.

The incident, which took place near the Dispac company, was captured by security cameras at the commercial establishment.

In the video, which has quickly gone viral on social media and has been shared by several news portals, you can see the exact moment when an armed subject enters the premises and, with a black bag in his hand, demands that the owner or employee of the place hand over the money or other valuables under threat.

For several seconds, the victim remains calm and tries to talk to the criminal, while still observing him closely.

Despite the shopkeeper’s attempts to persuade the robber, he does not give in and continues with his attempted robbery.

However, in a moment of carelessness on the part of the criminal, the merchant takes the opportunity to snatch the firearm and point it at him.

The criminal, seeing himself unarmed and without options, panics and flees. In his desperation, he slips while trying to escape from the establishment at full speed.

The incident sparked a wave of comments on social media, where many netizens made fun of the thief, pointing out that “criminals are not so brave when they are unarmed.”

The case also highlights the growing insecurity in Quibdó, Chocó, where residents live under the constant threat of crime.

Authorities have been alerted to the incident and it is hoped that measures will be taken to improve security in the area.

Meanwhile, the merchant’s courage has been applauded, becoming an example of resistance in the face of the growing wave of crime that is sweeping the region.
