The deputy to the National Assembly, Jose Vielma Mora (PSUV), stated during his participation in the program Al Aire, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the characteristics of far-right movementsas well as its current presence in particular political sectors in Venezuela.
As an introduction, he indicated that “first we have to greatly strengthen the academic subject and the conceptualization of things“because we break the boundaries between one thing and another, that causes a lot of confusion, we have to call things as they are,” said the parliamentarian.
In this regard, he indicated that in the case of Venezuela, “We can no longer speak of an opposition right wing“, but of a far-right current which, “breaks the limits and the molds, which continues to escalate hostile positions without any consideration of anything”, through subversive actions such as violation of the rule of law, promotion of foreign interference, disruption of national peace, as well as causing damage to the economic, social, political and cultural sectors of Venezuela.
“What is the far right? To look for any situation that prolong the instability and ignorance of the rule of law“, Vielma Mora said. “It happened here in Venezuela, we are going to an election, we invite you to sign an electoral recognition agreement, you didn’t pay attention to it“, he said, in clear reference to the former presidential candidate, Edmundo González, of the Democratic Unitary Platform; later, he recalled that González’s political sector proclaimed fraud.
He also explained that these actions make up a plan of seditionwhich consists of ignoring public institutions, dismantling the government apparatus, and promoting national violence.
