Reynado Dueñas and his 13-year-old daughter Angela died after inhaling cooking smoke for an entire night in their home located on Atahualpa Street, in the Tiabaya district, Arequipa.

According to preliminary information, the family prepared chicken at night and then placed it in the oven. Apparently they fell asleep, the chicken juice was consumed and the food began to burn. Smoke leaked through the oven into several spaces in the house, reaching the rooms.
